Quality Dance Education

The staff at Shawn Terenzi’s Academy of Dance is committed to Quality Dance Education. Each instructor has had extensive training and has danced professionally. Instructors are certified and members of The Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston and Dance Masters of America. We strive to help each student reach their individual potential in a happy, progressive atmosphere. Once again, we welcome you to the Academy and hope that your child will develope and appreciate the art of dance and acrobatics. We are looking forward to an exciting year of dance!

 

Shawn Terenzi | Owner, Director, Teacher, & Choreographer

imageShawn has been in the dance and gymnastic fields for over 20 years. He has had the opportunity to study with some of the finest teachers and choreographers throughout the United States and prides himself on sharing his knowledge and love for dance with his students. Shawn has had the opportunity to be examined by the National Dance Council of America, Inc. and received outstanding marks in Tap, Jazz, and Ballet exams. Shawn has performed at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, where he assisted with the choreography and was selected dance captain. Shawn also danced in 4 main stage shows on the Regal Princess Cruise Ship. Shawn has taught at numerous schools throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He has received numerous top score and special awards for his choreography. Shawn has also judged regional competitions and scholarship programs for Dance Ovations, Dance Masters of America, and The National Dance Council of America. Shawn is currently on the Board of Directors for Dance Masters of New England, Chapter #5, and is the Regional director for Headliners Performing Arts Competition. Shawn is very excited to share his love for the arts with your child.

 

Jason Hernandez | Teacher & Choreographer

imageJason is originally from Los Angeles, CA where he trained extensively in all types of dance. Along with years of teaching experience, he has had many years of professional experience. Jason’s work includes performing in stage shows at Disneyland, touring with Disney throughout Asia, and performing on various cruise ships all over the world. Jason is pleased to be sharing his love and knowledge of dance, and strives to help students exceed to their potential.

 

Kaitlin Costello | Teacher & Choreographer

imageKate has danced for the past 19 years, both competitively and in full length productions. She recently graduated from Providence College with two Bachelor of Arts degrees. Kate was awarded the Blackfriars Theatre Guild Scholarship two consecutive times and the Leonard Award for Excellence in Drama upon graduation. Kate began directing in the fall of 2007 with her first full length play Boy Gets Girl. In the spring of 2008, she served as co-director, choreographer, and musical director for The St. Pius V Grammar School’s Drama Club production of Honk! jr. Kate has served as a guest instructor for Ballet and Musical Theatre dance workshops. Kate is tremendously excited to be back home sharing her love for dance!
