Quality Dance Education

The staff at Shawn Terenzi’s Academy of Dance is committed to Quality Dance Education. Each instructor has had extensive training and has danced professionally. Instructors are certified and members of The Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston and Dance Masters of America. We strive to help each student reach their individual potential in a happy, progressive atmosphere. Once again, we welcome you to the Academy and hope that your child will develope and appreciate the art of dance and gymnastics. We are looking forward to an exciting year of dance!

 

Shawn Terenzi | Owner, Director, Teacher, & Choreographer

imageShawn has been in the dance and gymnastic fields for over 20 years. He has danced professionally at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg and also toured the world dancing in 4 main stage shows on the Regal Princess Cruise Ship. Shawn has received numerous top score and special awards for his choreography. He has also judged regional competitions and scholarship programs for Dance Ovations, Dance Masters of America, and The National Dance Council of America. Shawn is currently the Treasurer and on the Board of Directors for Dance Masters of New England, Chapter #5. He is also serving on the National Board of Directors for Dance Masters of America. Shawn is also the regional director for Headliners Performing Arts Competition. Shawn is very excited to share his love for the arts with your child.

 

Jason Hernandez | Assistant Director, Instructor, & Choreographer

imageJason is originally from Los Angeles, where he trained extensively in all types of dance. He has had many years of professional experience and teaching dance. His choreography has been awarded many special awards and high score awards. Jason’s other work includes performing in stage shows at Disneyland, touring with Disney throughout Asia, and performing on various cruise ships all over the world. Jason has taught and judged for several dance organizations throughout New England. Jason is also currently on the Board of Directors for Dance Masters of New England. Jason is pleased to be sharing his love of dance, and strives to help students exceed to their potential.

 

Kaitlin Costello | Instructor & Choreographer

imageKate has danced for the past 20 years, both competitively and in full length productions. She graduated from Providence College with two Bachelor of Arts degrees. Kate was awarded the Blackfriars Theatre Guild Scholarship two consecutive times and the Leonard Award for Excellence in Drama.  Kate began directing in 2007 with the full length play Boy Gets Girl. In 2008, she served as co-director, choreographer, and musical director of the production Honk! jr. Kate has served as a guest instructor for Ballet and Musical Theatre dance workshops. Kate is tremendously excited to be sharing her love for dance!

 

Tina Fosman | Instructor & Choreographer

imageTina has been a dance educator for over 20 years. She has always been acknowledged for her versatility and technical aspects in all genres of dance. She takes the most pride in the accomplishments of her students. They have gone on to lead very successful careers through the art of dance. Many of Tina’s students have gone on to dance in NYC, on cruise ships and in theme parks. Some of her students have also opened up their very own studios, so they too can share their love and passion for dance. Tina is looking forward to doing the same for many more and can’t wait to instill the love of dance to a new generation.

 

Jeannine Terenzi | Instructor & Choreographer

imageJeannine has been dancing for over 20 years. She is experienced in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyric, and acrobatics. Jeannine has toured the world while performing with the cast of Up With People. Jeannine has had many years of experience teaching dance to students in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She is very excited to share all the fun and rewarding experiences that will benefit your child through dance.
